Invisalign Treatment in Ballarat
Invisalign treatment is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. No brackets and wires, and none of the restrictions that come with metal
braces.
What are the primary benefits of using Invisalign?
Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible — people may not even notice you’re wearing them. You can remove them to eat and drink, to brush and floss, or for special occasions. There are no metal brackets or wires that could irritate your mouth or break.
How will Invisalign Straighten my teeth?
The Invisalign clear aligners are then designed to apply the right amount of force to the right place at the right time based on your plan. Dr George & associates at Ashmore Dentistry will be with you every step of the way to monitor your progress and ensure your aligners fit correctly and your treatment is tracking well. We also ensure we will step in early if anything were to go off track.
Do I need to have a check-up before undergoing Invisalign treatment?
It is important to ensure that your teeth are fit & healthy before, during and after Invisalign treatment. Before ordering your aligners, we will confirm that they are healthy. If you have not had a check-up in the last six months please let us know and we will complete a complimentary screening for you.
Can I eat and drink with Invisalign?
No, It is recommended that Invisalign is removed when eating or drinking anything other than water.
What is the process?
Starting with a consultation, Dr George will evaluate your smile, discuss your concerns and gather some diagnostic photographs and scans using an Itero machine to develop a customized digital treatment plan that will showcase the step by step transformation of your smile.
Once you have approved your plan, your custom aligners will be created.
At your very first Invisalign appointment you will be taught how to insert, remove & clean your aligners.
Attachments will be placed onto your teeth in accordance to the custom treatment plan and these will remain on for the duration of your treatment.
You will wear each set of aligners for 22 hours a day, changing to a new set of aligners every 1 to 2 weeks, as directed by Dr George. With appointments spanning approximately every 4 to 6 weeks each set of aligners will gently and gradually shift your teeth into place, according to your treatment plan until you reach your new smile!
Attachments – These are small tooth coloured shapes which serve as handles, giving the aligners something to gently push on in order to move your teeth with the right amount of force, and are what make complex tooth movements possible without braces. Invisalign clear aligners fit smoothly and tightly around them, so they’re barely noticeable.
Will I need to wear a retainer once my Invisalign has finished?
It is recommended that anyone who has completed orthodontic treatment, whether with braces or Invisalign treatment, use a retainer to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back toward their initial position. Retainers will be included within the cost of your treatment and require a simple scan at the end to have them made!
